Every once in a while a designer comes around that captures an audience’s heart in a very genuine way. Angela Chen has done just that. Her line, Orange, was launched in July 2007 after Angela had graduated from the prestigious Parsons, The New School for Design, in New York City as one of the most promising designers in her class.
Her story is much like that of most Canadians. Born abroad, in Taiwan, and raised in Vancouver, Angela has used her talent and work ethic to create something exciting, boundary pushing, progressive, and uniquely her own.
Orange has dressed celebrities from Kristen Stewart to Canadian model Coco Rocha, and with an aesthetic that is bold yet simple and classic yet energetic, it is no wonder that this Canadian designer is at the top of everyone’s ‘must watch’ list.
Her fall collection was nothing less than extraordinary. Hand-made knits (by her own hands), clean silhouettes, textures, and impeccable tailoring – we look forward to many more collections from this talented young Canadian designer.
